Emma’s First Time Ice Skating

Posted by danaandtammy on Friday Dec 31, 2010 Under Kid Pictures, Photographs, Travels

Pueblo has a nice indoor skating rink, so we took Emma skating. She loved it. We stayed there for almost 2 hours and by the end she could skate/walk all by herself.

Nice Weather in Pueblo

Posted by danaandtammy on Thursday Dec 30, 2010 Under Kid Pictures, Photographs, Travels

The weather has been nice here in Pueblo. We’ve got our hats on because the morning was still a little cool, but it got up in the the 50s the last few days. It is nice to go to a park in late December.

Royal Gorge

Posted by danaandtammy on Thursday Dec 30, 2010 Under Kid Pictures, Photographs, Travels

Just an hour from Pueblo is the amazing Royal Gorge. It had just snowed, so we were not able to take the gondola across, but we did ride the world’s steepest train to get to the bottom of the gorge. It was a lot of fun, and sorry Kenny, you stayed home an took a nap.

If you look close, you can see the suspension bridge over the gorge.

8th Wedding Anniversary in Estes Park

Posted by danaandtammy on Tuesday Dec 28, 2010 Under Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events, Travels

We celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary in Estes Park. It was a little windy, but the scenery was beautiful and we stayed in the historic Stanley Hotel.

The Stanley Hotel is where Steven King found inspiration as he wrote the book The Shining.

The sunrise was sureal. The clouds were bursting with color.

Opening Presents in Colorado

Posted by danaandtammy on Monday Dec 27, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

We celebrated Christmas in Colorado a day later than scheduled as we volunteered to give up our seats on our scheduled Delta flight to Denver on Christmas Day. We were compensated nicely though for the inconvenience.

The kids wore their matching reindeer pants made by Grandma Fish and we all had an enjoyable time.

Christmas Day Celebrations

Posted by danaandtammy on Saturday Dec 25, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

The children woke up bright and early to open presents at our house. It was a fun time of just the four of us, and this year dad didn’t fall off a chair.

Probably never to look like this again, putting this together took Dad well over an hour. It would be handy if Playmobil use some sort of logic in how they package the hundreds of tiny pieces.

Before heading to the airport to go to Colorado, we had brunch with the Wisconsin family at a local restraunt.

Christmas Eve Celebration

Posted by danaandtammy on Friday Dec 24, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

On Dana’s side of the family, celebrating and opening presents occurs on Christmas Eve. Dinner included Swedish Meatballs as the main entree. Lots of fun with everyone.

The girls love their mashed potatoes with gravy.

After dinner, but before present opening we did a bunch of group photos. The kids were pretty motivated knowing that the sooner pictures were done, the sooner presents could be opened.

Uncle Tracy, Aunt Tara, Landry, Avery and Carter.

All the nieces and nephews with Uncle Ryan and Aunt Tessa.

Granma and Grandpa Swany with the grandkids.

This paper is close to 30 years old.

Emma’s American Girl doll that she named Lily.

This toy train was actually Dana’s when he was a little kid. It stills works, which is actually too bad because it plays some pretty annoying music.

A fun night with family.

Santa on Christmas Eve

Posted by danaandtammy on Friday Dec 24, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

The day before this, we waited over an hour to see Santa, but when we realized that we would probably have to wait another hour we gave up. That left us with only one day (Christmas Eve) to see Kris Kringle. I (Dana) got to the mall 45 minutes before Santa arrived for the day. I then waited in line until the rest of the family arrived. It worked out just great and both Emma and Kenny were happy to sit on Santa’s lap.

The cousins also showed up a few minutes after us, so we got a picture of them also.

Making a Gingerbread House

Posted by danaandtammy on Sunday Dec 19, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kenny's Health, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

Lots of fun. Lots of mess. Lots of sugar.

The candy in this picture is significant. A few hours after making the house, Emma tried to put one of these little candies into Kenny’s mouth while he was laying down. Somehow the candy ended up going in his nose. We almost got to the point where we thought we would need to go to Urgent care, when a strong external push shot the candy out of his nose. The whole time sister Emma was much more concerned than Kenny.

Preschool Christmas Program

Posted by danaandtammy on Friday Dec 17, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

Emma’s Christmas program was just a lot of fun to watch. All of the kids where so expressive in their singing. It really helped get us all into the Christmas spirit.

Macy’s Minneapolis Christmas Display

Posted by danaandtammy on Thursday Dec 16, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

Macy’s Department Stores are headquartered in Minneapolis, so at their Minneapolis store they put up a pretty nice Chirstmas display. Target also sponsers a Christmas parade. We had never been to either events, so on a Thursday night Tammy and her friend Leslie took the kids for some Christmas fun in the Twin Cities.

Taking rest and getting ready to see Santa.

The rule with Santa at Macy’s is that you can use your own picture, but you can only take two pictures. Kenny eventually got happy, but Tammy had already used her two picture quota.

The Blizzard of 2010

Posted by danaandtammy on Sunday Dec 12, 2010 Under Kid Pictures, Photographs

Within a 24 hour period 22 inches of snow fell here in our part of Wisconsin. This beat the previous record of 18 inches that occured in 1897. It just kept snowing and snowing. One other interesting note, was that even with this record snow fall, not one hour of school was canceled. The timing was such that it started Friday night and quit by Sunday morning and we’ve got some amazing road crews here in Wisconsin and the roads were fine by Monday.

Christmas in the City

Posted by danaandtammy on Saturday Dec 4, 2010 Under Holidays, Holidays, Kid Pictures, Photographs, Special Events

As with Halloween, the downtown businesses put on a little Christmas Festival. With fresh snow it felt a lot like Christmas even though there are still 3 weeks to wait.

Aunt Tessa was one of the volunteers, so we stopped by to see her.
