For Emma’s homework today she got to “immigrate” to the U.S. and bring items from a country of her choice. I’m so proud that she chose Vietnam. (For those of you who don’t know Dana and I met in Vietnam in the summer of 2002.)
This is Kenny not thrilled about getting ready for school.
Kenny had Kindergarten Open House at Crestview this morning but the best part was getting to go outside with Emma and friends at recess.
Emma is always designing and crafting new things for her American Girl doll room. Today she made an ice cream sundae. I love it!
Somehow this little buddy got on top of the refrigerator to get the Oreo cookies!!!
I was super excited to get the kids artwork back today. I got them box mounted from Michael Hertrich Art + Frame in Pittsburgh, PA (where I went to college). I just love how they turned out!
Another snow/cold day! This is our version of charades.
We had another snow-cold day from school but the crazy part is that we had to keep our thermostat at 60 degrees because of a gas pipeline explosion. Landry spent the day with us and we tried to keep warm with all our electric space heaters.
Sweet cousins. What a blessing that we live in the same neighborhood!
Sunday afternoon family fun. I sure love these guys!
~Emma’s American Girl Hair Salon~
(She just got a new American Girl video showing how to do different hairstyles.)
Usually the first thing Emma wants to do when she gets home from school is make Rainbow Loom bracelets.
Lots of Lego fun!
And lots of gymnastics fun!
It’s never too cold for popsicles! Kenny’s favorite food group.
This is a rare sweet sibling moment.
Emma has had a cold, cough, and sore throat on and off for three weeks. We finally took her to the doctor yesterday but the rapid strep test came back negative. Kenny sure enjoys having her home.
Emma’s American Girl Doll room is always changing but here is a snapshot from today after the massive cleaning and organizing.
Every year we take a picture of Emma in a wedding dress and swimsuit that were worn by two of her great-grandmothers. And for Kenny we have done the same with two different hats that were his great-grandfathers and Papa Swany’s Army jacket. The black hat was his Great-Grandfather Kenneth Swanstrom (Dana’s paternal grandfather). The light colored hat was his Great-Grandfather Maurice Howard’s (Tammy’s maternal grandfather).
The first 5 pictures are from Kenny’s 5 year shoot.
Here is Kenny at 4 years old in 2012.
Kenny age 3 ~ 2011 (This year is extra special because he is wearing Grandma Swany’s old boots.)
Kenny age 2 ~ 2010
Kenny age 1 ~ 2009
Kenny at 6 months. (We didn’t have the other hat or coat yet.)
This sunset picture was taken by Emma in our car with our little camera.
Emma and Gabbie and their Perkins shenanigans.
And here is Kenny and Dana at the Sports Center.
With the day off from school Emma and I had a fun day of Lego building and organizing.
